Should I wash my mattress protector before I put it on my mattress?
Yes. When the protector is manufactured, the fabric is starched for easier cutting. Washing removes the starch.
Which side of the protector should be visible when it goes on my mattress?
The terry toweling side which is 100% cotton and absorbent should be on the top and visible when the protector goes on your mattress.
At what temperature should I wash my mattress protector?
Your protector should be washed at warm temperature.
Can I dry my mattress protector in the dryer?
Yes. Use low to medium 65º C/150º F to 70º C/160º F and always dry your protector together with other linens.
Can I dry clean my mattress protector?
No. The chemicals used in dry cleaning will destroy the Miracle Membrane®.
Can I use bleach when I wash my mattress protector?
No. The bleaching process will destroy the Miracle Membrane®.
Can I hang my mattress protector outside in the sun to dry?
Yes. You can hang your mattress protector outside to dry, but do not expose it to direct sunlight.
Can I iron my mattress protector?
No. Never iron your mattress protector because ironing can damage the Miracle Membrane®.
Can I sterilize my mattress protector?
Yes. Your protector can be sterilized at 120º C/250º F.
Does the skirt need to go directly under the mattress?
No. However, the four corners of the mattress protector must fit securely around the four corners of the mattress.
Are the sides of my mattress protector covered under warranty?
No. The warranty only covers the sleeping surface of the mattress protector.
Will my mattress protector protect me against dust mites?
Yes. The Miracle Membrane® does not allow dust mite feces to penetrate the mattress because the pores of the Miracle Membrane® are much smaller than dust mite feces particles.

Will my mattress protector protect my mattress from stains?
Yes. Because the Miracle Membrane® prevents all liquids from penetrating your mattress protector, your mattress is always protected from stains.
My cat urinated on my bed and there are no liquid stains on my mattress protector or my mattress. However, there is a strong smell of urine. Why?
Your mattress protector is designed to be impermeable to liquids but permeable to gasses and vapours. Therefore, if the smell of the urine gets into the mattress, it might penetrate the protector and permeate the mattress. Use our enclosed BedCare™ Odour Removal Spray to easily solve your problem.
My mattress protector has brown scuff marks on the Miracle Membrane®. Why?
Either your temperature settings are above the 70ºC /110ºF mark symbol recommended for drying and are causing the Miracle Membrane® to scorch, or your protector has been caught on the hot air inlay of your tumble dryer. These situations are not covered by the Protect-A-Bed® warranty.
My mattress protector has bubbles and blistering on the Miracle Membrane®. Why?
The temperature settings on your tumble dryer are set above the normal temperature and are causing the Miracle Membrane® to soften and pull away from the cotton comfort layer. This situation is not covered by the Protect-A-Bed® warranty.
The Miracle Membrane® has changed colour over time.
Will this change the effectiveness of the protector?
No. The discolouration of the Miracle Membrane® is a normal occurrence, and can be more or less noticeable depending on exposure to light, water and body acidity. The Protect-A-Bed® warranty considers this situation to be normal wear and tear.
